What is the Nicholas Allen Shroud Picture?
Nicholas Allen created a room-size camera to show that such a device might have been invented in the medieval era. He hung a life-sized status in the sun. He treated a piece of cloth with photosensitive chemicals. He took a picture with his camera. The life-sizes photograph of the statue looked something like the frontal image on the Shroud. But it failed in many respects.
The logic in the exercise, as was the case with the Shadow Shroud and
Garlaschelli’s Shroud, like making a printing press and printing a Bible
to show that Leonardo might have invented printing.
Looking like and being like are two very different things. The
photograph was not chemically or physically like the images on the
Shroud. This was not how the images on the Shroud were created. That was
obvious.
